Hi! I’m Tana
As an educator, I know it is not easy to teach a language. In this website, you will see the lesson plans I designed, the videos I made, and the books I read to become a good language teacher. I am also a language lover, so I will share some tips which help me a lot on my language learning journey. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Get To Know Me
I am a language teacher based in New York. I used to teach English in a public high school in China for eight years. Currently, I'm a teacher in an primary school. As an experienced teacher in high school, I know how to talk with adolescents and what kinds of class will keep them engaged. I like project based learning which is not only closely related to our everyday life but also a great way to encourage students collaborate and cooperate. What I want to build is a classroom where every single student is seen, heard and loved.

September 2020 - Present
Online Language Instructor
As an online language instructor, I develop my own online course. Currently, I have my speaking course and grammar course which can be purchased from my online shop.
August 2013 - August 2021
English Teacher, High School Affiliated to Inner Mongolia Normal University
As a homeroom teacher and English teacher, I taught English to 90 students every year. I initiated an elective course on spoken English to provide students with more exposure to authentic materials and topics.
September 2022 - December 2022
Student Teacher, Brooklyn Technical High School
As a student teacher in Brooklyn Technical High School, I take over two classes. I designed my own uint and lesson plan. I assist my mentor teacher to check homework and grade projects.

I majored in English Education in School of Foreign Languages and Literature. When I was a Junior at college, I went to The University of Oklahoma as an exchange student to study American Literature. I was a volunteer teacher in an elementary school for a year.

I was a part-time graduate student in the program of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. During the study, I conducted an action research on cultivating critical thinking skills by writing.

New York University
I am currently working on my dual certification program in teaching a World Language 7-12 and TESOL all grades. I was a learning partner at Brooklyn Technical High School for a semester to familiarize myself to the U. S. educational system. I also went into classroom and made my observation on teaching and learning.
